Anxiety is a real symptom that can affect our everyday lives. Sigmund Freud called “reality anxiety,” a fear around survival-based events, like what is happening in the news and around the world.

The energy we have been feeling and continue to experience can be overwhelming and chaotic. The fear-based energy coming at us can cause us to unconsciously jump into a worst-case scenario mindset, trapping us in the illusion of a fear-based “Chicken Little” reality (the sky is falling, the sky is falling). Anxiety can take over when we step out of the moment and focus on a perceived uncertain future.
