When we remember that we control our inner emotions and reactions to any situation or outside events, we can reclaim our emotional wellbeing and feel safe in our daily lives. Feeling safe involves not only our physical security but also our emotional and mental wellbeing.
One of the biggest factors in not feeling safe, is the influence of the media, the news, and those around us that focus on fear. When we expose ourselves to the constant negative narrative around us, it heightens our level of perceived danger while diminishing the sense of feeling safe. It is a conscious choice to participate in the fear-based stories coming at us.
